I'm Sick of 2nd Place

In the new Sports Illustrated the King is crowned as the best player in the league. The last two years for Lebron James has been a coronation. James has won 2 NBA championships, 2 NBA finals MVPs, and 2 regular seasons MVPs.

Kevin Durant came up short in the 2011 NBA finals, which he lost to James’ Miami Heat. Last year Durant and the Thunder lost in the second round of the playoffs. Now with the 2013 NBA season looming, Durant is ranked the number 2 player in the NBA by Sports Illustrated. Durant is the second best player in the NBA and might be third best player if Derrick Rose comes back healthy.

It’s not even close; Lebron James is on another stratosphere. James is clearly better than ever basketball player on the planet.

Durant is entering his seventh year in the league at the ripe old age of 25 years old. Durant is entering the prime of his career the only problem is Lebron James is in his prime. Kevin might have to deal with being second for the next five years.

The Heat will be back stronger than ever trying to three-peat. Durant lost James Harden a year ago and just lost his replacement Kevin Martin. In the playoffs without a healthy Russell Westbrook, Durant looked lost at times. Durant won’t achieve best player in the league until James relinquishes it.
